As Leo Duarte has failed to impress the management, even against lower-level sides like Novara and Monza, Milan are in the market for a new centre-back. However, one of their targets could end up in Spain.
According to Marca, Valencia are in negotiations with Fiorentina over German Pezzella, the captain of the Italian side. The Spanish side are keen on him but can’t pay the €15m price tag requested, while other clubs are now monitoring the situation.
However, as the report continues, Valencia’s offer is the most serious one and other solutions are being evaluated, such as a loan with an option to buy. Milan are also interested in the Argentine defender but are yet to make a move.
They have only asked Fiorentina for information, leaving Valencia in pole position in the race. As the report continues, Barcelona are also studying the player and the final decision will be made by Ronald Koeman, the new manager.
