The calendar year is coming to a close and Transfermarkt have just done an update on the market values for every player league by league.

As Transfermarkt themselves explain, market values are calculated taking into account various pricing models. Their community discusses how much players are worth based on form, contract situation and other factors such as market demand.

The most important factors are listed as follows: future prospects, age, performance at the club and national team, level and status of the league in sporting and financial terms, reputation/prestige, marketing value, number and reputation of interested clubs, experience, injury proneness and more.

With that said, they have drawn up a ranking of the combined market values of each Serie A club but broken down department by department.

For the defence (which includes goalkeepers, as the entire defensive package) Milan are in fourth place with 13 players in total for a total market value of €198.5m.

The Rossoneri are in the same position (4th) also for the midfield, with €139.5m of combined value. In attack, Milan are in second place with seven players for a total of €195m.

In terms of rivals, Juventus top the midfield and attack rankings, with Inter having the most valuable rearguard as per the calculations.

      1. Anything bellow 4th pace is a disaster. And we are driving towards this disaster. I am hoping for a better second half of the season. More convincing performances and a team hungry for wins. If anything changes in the meantime, I am hoping is for the best!

  1. The Cardinale interviews might as well have said, we will sell Leao, Theo, Tijiani, Pulisic, and Mike next summer because their values will outweigh what Milan can pay during a year without Champions League football.

    1. Some of you have been saying that for 18 months, despite over €200 million spent and renewals. Stop taking bollocks learn to understand how businesses work.

  2. What’s the plan for Red Bird in case they don’t reach Champions League?

What is calculation, how much they need to sell, and who ?

This is the lowest transfermarket Milan squad in last year and a half. Only Reijnders and Pulisic went well up.

  3. They sell Theo and Tomori. Maybe Mike. The other stars will stay. There’s little to worry about. Even if we finish 5th, if it means Jimenez and some of the other youngsters become regulars in the first team squad, that’s good for our long-term.
