From Serbia: Milan agree €5m Lazetic deal – details of the deal and the Rossoneri’s strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have secured a deal for young Red Star Belgrade striker Marko Lazetić and he will soon fly to Italy to undergo his medical, a report claims.

Mozzart Sport in Serbia report that some smaller details remain to be agreed, but Milan have offered two instalments totalling €4m plus €1m in bonuses and 10% of the proceeds from a future resale, which has been accepted by Red Star as it was better than the bid they got from Torino.

In the coming days, the player should travel to Italy for his medical examinations and should then sign his contract. Lazetić turned 18 yesterday and it is obvious that the Rossoneri were waiting for that to happen in order to make their move, as they are now able to sign him to a long-term deal.

Rather than join the Primavera team, Lazetić will be immediately sent to the first team given that Pietro Pellegri is expected to leave. He will not have a huge role or big minutes at the beginning given the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Olivier Giroud, but he will learn alongside both and grow.
