AC Milan, this afternoon, have rejected a bid from Olympique Marseille for midfielder Ismael Bennacer, reports from France say.
After forcing through a move to France at the end of the January mercato, it was hoped that the French club would pay the fee included in the loan deal. Instead, they opted not to, and Bennacer returned.

Unfortunately, finding a new club has not been so easy, or at least a suitable one. Milan had agreed a deal with Al Ittihad, though the midfielder did not want to move to Saudi Arabia. So, he is still with the Rossoneri.
Bid for Bennacer
Interest in the midfielder is not significant. In fact, it is a struggle to find any suitors for the Algerian. This, perhaps, is why Marseille have attempted a cheeky bid for the midfielder recently.
As French outlet Le10Sport writes, Roberto De Zerbi wants to add to his midfield and wants to continue with Bennacer. The Algerian is supposedly one of the club’s priorities, and an offer was made for him.
Rather than a permanent move, though, they had tried to work out another loan situation. It did not return with a positive result for the French club, though, as Milan rejected the deal.

These players need to move on from Pioli’s times. The souls of this guy and Theo seem to have died in 2022. I guess their feelings and emotions are more important than their careers and families.
What are you talking about? How is this bad for his family?
If the club wants to move on, accept the offer and off he goes. It’s us choosing not to accept the offer, reportedly.
We know Bennacer wants to be in Marseille and we know (from first hand experience) that clubs like to use being the preferred choice as leverage.
And maybe his family are happy in Milan or living in Europe. That’s their choice.
In his world, somehow – family, emotions and feelings are separate things. I wouldn’t try to reason with him.
A loan move will be a bad business for Milan, he’s deal expires next year June……. He will end the loan as a free agent, Milan prefer and outright purchase to recumb anything little for the balance sheet.
Nobody wants an injury prone midfielder that’s the point. You don’t exactly see clubs stepping up for him, if we can send him on loan get his salary off the books and see him go for free it won’t hurt the club, he was cheap anyway, both him and Krunic from Empoli.
This dude career already finished due to injury prone. He also dont want to help ACM get transfer fee and choose loan until his contract expire, but cannot blame him, it is his human rights. In my opinion just let him go on loan and free him next season
