MN: Massa and Di Bello a ‘disaster’ and not for the first time against Milan

The referee Davide Massa and the VAR chief Marco Di Bello have been branded ‘disastrous’ after their officiating performance during AC Milan’s 1-1 draw with Bologna.

MilanNews have published a piece titled: ‘Massa is a disaster: foul on Bologna’s goal, two penalties not given to Milan. And it’s not the first time he’s damaged Milan’.

The list of contestable decisions starts with Aebisher’s foul on Ballo-Tourè for Bologna’s opener which was not called, then there were two clear penalties for the Rossoneri on Rebic (an obvious stomp by Soumaoro on Rebic) and the handball by Soumaoro.

The incident involving Saelemaekers (contact between the legs from Dominguez) should also be evaluated looked at, while he added 0 minutes in the first half (after two goals) and only three minutes at the end of the 90.

Among other things, it is not the first time that he has damaged Milan. He was the referee during the defeat against Napoli last season when Kessie’s goal was ruled out for a false offside on Giroud.

In addition to that, he was against the referee for Juventus-Milan in 2017, when he didn’t give an obvious penalty to Milan after a handball by De Sciglio on a cross by Calhanoglu.
