Massara assures Milan are ‘confident’ in Calhanoglu talks and touches on the mercato

With just a few minutes left until Milan-Torino, Ricky Massara spoke to Italian media about the Rossoneri’s current situation, amid the ongoing transfer window. After the loss against Juventus, the goal is to get back to winning ways.

As Inter lost their game against Sampdoria in the last round, Milan are still at the top of the Serie A standings, albeit with just one point to spare. Therefore, tonight’s game will be important to understand the Rossoneri’s reaction to the loss.

In an interview with DAZN, as cited by MilanNews, Massara spoke about the returns of Ibrahimovic and Calhanoglu as well as the latest rumours regarding the transfer market.

On Ibra and Hakan: “It’s a team that has a great spirit. Leaders like Ibra and Hakan never miss their contribution. As for Ibra, he returns after more than a month, the condition has yet to improve. Calhanoglu has taken a hit with Juve and is ailing but is available if needed. We are convinced that we can do very well.”

On the renewal of Calhanoglu and Donnarumma: “We are confident, we are continuing a dialogue in a fruitful manner. We are aware that we have two extraordinary professionals, totally focused on the team. This is the essential thing. We are hoping to be able to move forward and have good news as soon as possible.”

Meite and Simakan: “There are many names that are combined. We are evaluating different positions and talking with the coach to see if there will be some integration. The market is still long, we will see next week if there will be the possibility to verify these occasions.”

The Rossoneri’s squad is currently very decimated, due to the injury crisis, and they could certainly do with some reinforcements this month. That being said, it has to be the right signings for the management.
