Tuttosport: Massara the favourite to become Juve’s new sporting director

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus are targeting AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara as part of a potential overhaul of the management, according to a report.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Juventus have chosen Massara as the man they want to fill the sporting director role from the summer onwards, and they write that – according to some sources – he is destined to leave the Rossoneri at the end of the current campaign.

Massara is from Turin and therefore it would be a return to his home city, with the paper stating that he is now the ‘favourite’ to become Juve’s next sporting director, which would mean leaving his role as Paolo Maldini’s right-hand man and teaming up with Massimiliano Allegri who is an old friend.

However, Tuttosport write that they have received no confirmations on the speculation that chief scout Geoffrey Moncada could leave with Massara to occupy the same role with the Bianconeri for 2023-24 onwards.

  1. Why would Moncada consider going to Juventus? I guess they will pay him more and spend more to be able to get better players, no matter their state at the moment. I don’t see any other reason for Moncada to move…

  2. Losing Moncada would be devastating considering we don’t have money to buy established players and have to rely on scouting for cheap young talent with upside. Huge loss if it happens
