Journalist claims Massara had ‘introductory meeting’ with Juventus over director role

By Oliver Fisher -

Reports continue to emerge suggesting that Ricky Massara is a target for Juventus in their search to hire a new sporting director.

Michele Criscitiello – a well-known journalist – spoke about the rumours linking Juve with a move to try and poach Massara from Milan during an interview with Sportitalia, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan.

“In recent days, there was an introductory meeting between Frederic Massara and Juventus. It would not exclude Cherubini who would return to a role more similar to the one he used to have with Paratici,” he said.

“Juve are looking for a new ‘Paratici’ and Massara is the very first name. Also recalling the excellent relationship between the Milan manager and Allegri, who will remain in black and white.”

It was Tuttosport who first reported that Juventus have chosen Massara as the man they want to fill the sporting director role from the summer onwards, expressing a degree of confidence that he would accept the job.

However, Calciomercato.com have since claimed that Milan are not worried about losing the former Roma director as he is under contract until 2024, is close to Paolo Maldini and is currently at work to plan the squad for the future.
