AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara has reiterated the club’s intention to speak to Real Madrid and Manchester United about permanent deals for Brahim Diaz and Diogo Dalot.
The Rossoneri secured the signings of Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid and Diogo Dalot from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, but they did not obtain an option to buy on either deal.
Massara was interviewed by Sky Italia before Sunday night’s game against Sampdoria about a number of different topics, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.
On Pioli and Ibrahimovic: “There is a strong leadership that is that of the coach, Ibra is truly an example every day, in his tenacity and in the search for results. In a young team like ours it becomes stimulating.”
On the management: “There has always been unity and a constructive dialogue that has led to the consolidation of a team. We started last year with the vision of bringing Milan back to high levels in the shortest possible time in a sustainable way.”
There has also been some talk in the media about the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in particular the idea that Milan will sit down with the striker and agent Mino Raiola to discuss an extension on his current contract.
“We haven’t started talking about this yet, we’ll do it at the right moment, it will depend on his mood, his desire,” Massara said.
“He has shown that he wants Milan so much, I think Milan is giving him a lot too. We hope he will have this desire for a long time to come.”
On Diaz and Dalot: “The current market has changed a lot, these loan formulas are quite in vogue. As it was with Rebic when there are the conditions to transform loans into purchases we do it. We are very happy with them, we will see later to sit down with the respective clubs and see how to proceed.”
