GdS: Massara targeting Tomori for free agent signing – the Englishman’s situation

AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is involved in a mercato rumour for 2027 already; it doesn’t matter that the 2026 summer mercato has only just concluded.

It’s been a strange summer for Tomori. Once again, he was available on the mercato and interest was there for the English defender, who was removed from the squad at one point. However, he preferred to remain on the sidelines rather than leave.

At the end of the mercato, that gamble paid off, with him being re-introduced to the squad. Yet, it seems difficult to imagine him in a Milan shirt past this season. After all, attempts to split the parties have been tried, albeit unsuccessfully, several times in recent years.

Interest in Tomori (again)

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Frederic Massara is again looking at Tomori and the Englishman is a major target for next year. A renewal appears not to be on the table currently, but things can change, of course.

If an extension isn’t agreed – even after Tomori was brought back into the squad – then Juventus would jump at the opportunity to sign him as a free agent next season.

It’s early, of course, but he will technically be a free agent from February onwards if nothing is agreed with the Rossoneri. Ideas for next year are already present; it doesn’t matter that the mercato closed on Tuesday…

  1. renew and then sell him. his still 29 , and a europa league/ champions league level defender even if he isnt great. can get 20 m on him easy if he has good season

      1. My guess is he’d accept a renewal. But for the sake of playing. As far as I can see he’s bleeding red and black.
This dedication is quite rare nowadays. But we all know how the club handles loyalty sometimes….

    1. They couldn’t sell him with 10 months left on his contract and coming off a season as a starter but they’ll be able to sell him after renewing him and keeping him on the bench for a season.

  2. What extension, FFS, that’s exactly what he wants, we won’t able
to get rid of him if we renew, he’ll stay with us until retirement…

    1. You say that like it’s a bad thing. He loves the club and does a good job. Honestly, you people are more interested in transfers than football.

      1. It is a bad thing if the coaches don’t see him as part of their projects. Loves the club so much but somehow adamantly doesn’t want to leave for a year and a half and hence enable us to sign a new (starting) CB?

      2. i don’t get the logic,
if Leao failed to help defence he’s parasite, but if Tomori help opposite make some goals w/ his consistent blunders he’s not bad

        1. I have never called Leao or any other player a parasite and honestly, I think Tomori’s blunders have been made to seem more common than they actually were. All defenders make mistakes, it’s part of the job.

  3. Maignan (Torriani, P. Terracciano)- Gila (De Winter), Stones (Gabbia), Pavlovic (Diawara)- Tiago Santos (Saelemaekers), Modric
(Fofana, Comotto), Rabiot (Ardon, Musah), Moreira (Bartesaghi)-
    #10 (Chukwueze), Pulisic (Nkunku, Cisse)- Ramos (Camarda, Icardi);

THIS WOULD BE A SQUAD CAPABLE OF FIGHTING FOR THE TITLE…

    1. No, it wouldn’t.
      Stones is injury probe.
      Modric is old and slow.
Jashiri and Musah are mediocre players.
      Nkunku is a dud.
      Icardi?!?!?

Central midfield is a huge problem. Jashiri and Musah aren’t good enough and Modric will be shot after 6 weeks. We know RLC is feeble. Who does that leave? The unproven Comotto.

It’s asking too much of Cisse and Rabiot.

The defence and flanks are in good shape, but it’s going to take another season to fix central midfield.

    1. Yup
      Another Origi
New age banter era fans are a curse

Imagine unconditionally supporting mediocre parasites like Tomerdi
It’s like they are completely unaware that this guy gets paid millions a year to play football, and he does it poorly

This is the problem with modern football fans
They are so out of touch with reality
You would think Tomerdi gets paid a janitor salary with how much these new age fans sympathize with trash players like this
