Mazzara: Milan put idea of signing another striker on stand-by – the reasons

AC Milan may not sign another striker this summer despite being linked with a host of options that could challenge Alvaro Morata for the starting spot.

As reported by Pietro Mazzara at Milan News, the Rossoneri could choose to focus their financial efforts elsewhere during the remainder of the summer transfer window and revisit the issue of another striker at a later date.

The primary reason for not signing another striker this summer is that no player has ticked all of the boxes. Many names have been linked but between price tags, injury records, and desires to play elsewhere, it has never materialised.

Tammy Abraham’s admission that he would like to stay at Roma or head to the Premier League may have been the last straw, and Milan will likely enter the season with Morata, Luka Jovic, Noah Okafor and then Francesco Camarda as an outside option.

Elsewhere, there is still a serious desire to sign a new midfielder with Youssouf Fofana, Manu Kone, Danilo and Johnny Cardoso all very credible names.

Beyond that, the focus will be on selling players as the likes of Yacine Adli, Tommaso Pbega, Pierre Kalulu and Alexis Saelemaekers could all be on the move.
