What Mbappe has said about joining AC Milan amid Barcelona and Saudi Arabia transfer links

He is almost always the primary topic of conversation in football, but Kylian Mbappe is making all of the headlines right now as rumours about his future continue to swirl.

It was reported by CBS journalist James Benge on Monday that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal has offered PSG €300m for Mbappe, and they will offer the Frenchman a one-year contract. This would mean that he can join Real Madrid on a free transfer in a year’s time.

The format of this deal has alerted every big club in Europe to the possibility of getting Mbappe on a short-term deal.

Whilst it may sound implausible, there have been reports linking Mbappe to AC Milan in the recent past. MARCA reported on Sunday that Milan would be the only viable option in Italy for Mbappe should he leave PSG this summer.

He spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport in May where he explained that he is a fan of Milan and has a ‘special bond’ with the club thanks to a particular part of his childhood. This discussion happened shortly after images of him as a child in a Milan shirt began to circulate.

“My bond with Milan is special. My nanny was Italian and I spent a lot of time with her family, they all supported Milan,” he said.

“Thanks to them, I watched many Milan games and I’ve become a fan. I used to say: if I ever play in Italy, it will only be at Milan. If I had said something different, they would have killed me.

“Jokes aside, I can only congratulate the Rossoneri, I have many French friends and Ibrahimovic, a legend that I really respect.”
