Mbappe once again admits to being a ‘Milan fan’ and sends message to Berlusconi’s family

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has once again proclaimed himself to be a fan of AC Milan, joking about how it is ‘hard’ to speak well of rivals Inter.

Mbappe was spotted on video earlier this year stating that he would only join Milan if he were to move to Italy, while he has previously been photographed as a young child wearing a Rossoneri shirt from the 2010-11 season.

Now, the France international has given an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport and he was asked about his future at PSG given the rumours circulating that he could leave the club this summer and move to Real Madrid.

“I’ve just confirmed that I don’t want to activate the clause to stay for one more season. I’ve never discussed a contract extension with PSG. But I am happy to stay here next season,” he said.

Then the France international was asked about the Champions League final between Inter and Manchester City on Saturday night, which saw the Premier League side win 1-0 thanks to Rodri’s goal in a closer encounter than many expected.

“As a Milan fan, it’s hard to speak well of Inter, but they prepared the game well, causing trouble for Man City,” said Mbappé.

“It was decided on details. Unfortunately, that’s how football is. Inter must be satisfied with their performance, but congratulations to City.

“Shame for the Italians, but it was nice for Italian Football. Fiorentina and Roma also prove you can do well without the same budget as PSG, Man City or other European clubs.

“That’s how you sign quality players. I’ve been following Serie A since I am a kid. Surely Ronaldo has brought more visibility to a very tactical league, where the general level has risen.

“Everyone wants to win the Champions League, but you always need maximum commitment or you’ll find a team that reminds you that things must be taken for granted.

“Not many thought Inter could reach the final; on the contrary, they nearly won it. One has to work well to be better than the others.”

Mbappe sent a message to Silvio Berlusconi’s family too, after the recent passing of the former Milan owner and president.

“My condolences go to his family. It’s a big loss for football, he was the historic President of the Milan side that made me dream as a kid. I hope fans will honour him as he deserves.”

  1. Come to the devils little Mbappé! Forget about money and ambition. We can give you a box of beer as payment. Couldn’t that be enough?

      1. He has 25 m/ year now. So he could almost do it for free in the future. How much money does he need anyway…

If he’s like most footballers the answer is. ”I want it all, I want it all. I want it now!” And then he moves to Saudi Arabia…

        1. Everyone knows Saudi-Arabia has the best football league in the world. After all they have Benzema & C.Ronaldo there too! 🙂

          1. Messi does not want to play in the best football league. No, it’s not Italian Serie A or English Premier League, it’s Saudi Pro League.

      2. Hahahahahaha!!! that I’m sure is Furlani’s grand master plan! But Pioli will still bench him because he doesn’t track back 🤪🤪🤪🤪

    1. And he still might be better than most of our squad at that point. Look at Ibrahimovic. Given Mbappe’s quality, even if he joins at 35 (which would be a few years young than Ibra was when he returned) he’d be a star and I would welcome him. Of course, if he loses his drive…

  2. Very smart guy, true professional, football lover. Of course he takes the money, they almost beg him to take it. From what he’s saying currently, he could stay with PSG to see what’s happening now. They will start from scratch this summer, the primadonnas are on their way out (Messi, Ramos, Neymar, maybe Verratti). If it’s again a mess, he can leave for free in one year from now. Sadly I don’t think we will have the money for him next year, even for free. His salary is huge and he would probably command a big signing bonus. But we never know, if the team is doing well next season, he could be interested. He’s a true Milan fan. Albeit a Real Madrid as well.

  3. How many superstars have played for Milan :Kaka, Pato, Sheva, Van Basten,Gullit, Ibra etc. No one looked at the money aspect. If Milan holds Mbappe’s heart, he should put away the money aspect and come Milan and make his records and history. EPL and Real Madrid is all about money.

    1. Berlusconi paid a lot for Van Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard. The other guys had standard salaries, and they also played for a club with big ambitions. Berlusconi also gave his daughter to Pato to keep him around haha

Now, Mbappé would have to get a huge paycut and he would join Milan while they are looking for commercial achievement more than winning trophies. He can also join Real Madrid, he’s fan too, and get both the money and the big ambitions.

Sadly, it’s impossible that he would join Milan now and the front staff probably doesn’t even think about it. PSG would ask for at least 100M this summer and Mbappé has one of the biggest salaries in Europe. Milan is still under the FPF settlement agreement.

    2. Bro they didn’t have to look at money because they were already being paid very very well..for instance Seedorf was making 8m per season gross, Pirlo 10m, old Dinho 15m. I wouldn’t say they they didn’t look for money but they also knew of Milan’s ambitions at the time.

      1. “…Milan’s ambitions at the time.” And then Berlusconi sold to Yonghong Li because the club was 300m in debt and he was on the way to taking the club full circle (he bought it in bankruptcy). So yeah.

  4. Why can’t you have both? Bayern doesn’t waste money and they have great teams every year. They have cycles like everyone else, but they win trophies while not throwing money away. That’s the club I want, but it requires patience. So chill!

  5. Had we’d been sold to Investcorp I bet he would have been in a Milan shirt this summer. But alas we are instead owned by the most frugal of owners and we can only go after free agents or young unproven players who fit under our wage cap. Ahh Berlusconi is rolling around in his grave. God bless Silvio

    1. And how do you think they will raise the money when they don’t even have enough money for takeover? It will be bank loan which counted as club’s debt.

Does people already forget that Investcorp deal involve 400m bank loan that will be included as Milan’s debt? It’s different from vendor loan (used by RedBird) which is not counted as Milan’s debt.

  6. He makes 6M euros per MONTH!!! we have player that don’t even make that per year! LOL

These arab owners is not good for the sport.

    PSG
    Man City
    Newcastle
    Soon Man Utd
    etc

This has to stop, how is any club ever going to be able to compete with these clubs financially?

  7. he’s die hard Milanista, if we can get him for free i’ll not disappointed even if he sign for a single season here with 35m budget all go to him & no other transfer
