From Portugal: Milan interested in Porto centre-back as agent pushes for a move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan continue to be linked with a number of different centre-backs and the latest target is Chancel Mbemba of Porto, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have been linked with seemingly every centre-back under the sun since the injury sustained by Simon Kjaer, because while Pierre Kalulu and Matteo Gabbia have done a decent job stepping up during a defensive crisis, they are young and inexperienced which is a worry for the big games.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola (via MilanLive), Milan have interest in signing Mbemba from Porto, who faced the Rossoneri as an opponent this season in the Champions League. He is 27 years old and has a great international experience having also played in the Premier League with Newcastle.

However, the Rossoneri are not the only one to have targeted him because there is competition from LaLiga side Real Betis. The player wants to leave Porto his agents are looking for a club that play in the top European leagues.
