Mediaset: Kalulu suffers injury in training and could miss the derby – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Pierre Kalulu was tipped to start in the heart of the defence of AC Milan against Inter next week but an injury has put his presence at risk. In fact, the Frenchman could miss the big clash, a report claims.

Fikayo Tomori is suspended after getting sent off against Roma and will thus miss the game. Malick Thiaw was set to partner up with Kalulu in the defence but the youngster has not sustained an injury, according to Mediaset (via SempreMilan.it).

While training at Milanello, Kalulu sustained a muscle injury and was forced to leave the pitch. New tests will be carried out in the coming days to determine the extent of the problem and this means Kjaer could start in the derby.

The Dane is currently on international duty and Milan will be hoping to have him back in good condition. He’s very experienced and knows what it takes in the big games but there is no doubt that Kalulu was the favourite to start up until the injury.

  1. I’m pretty worried about Kjaer. Don’t get me wrong he was a solid performer up until recently but I think he’s lost an extra yard of pace and it’s enough to be the tipping point.

Was really hoping we wouldn’t rely on him for the Derby, against lesser Serie A sides he’s probably fine. Lautaro is on red hot form, I guess we just need to hope we score more than they do!!

    Forza Milan

    1. @Kayson, We just have to hope for the best as Kjaer is our only option…. He’s way better than Kalulu except for pace. Yes, let’s hope we score more❤️🖤

  2. At least Kjaer has gotten some playing time for Denmark, so he will have some fitness and sharpness.
This is why we need to rotate, so our back up players are ready when needed
