Mediaset: Analysing Milan’s 2020/21 transfer windows – spent less than €30m

By Isak Möller -

Milan have certainly had a successful season so far and in addition to the team, they also have the directors to thank for it. On the market, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have done very well to reinforce the squad.

As reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the impressive work of the two directors is certainly behind the Rossoneri’s first place in the standings. They managed to build a very competitive squad, despite spending less than €30m over two windows.

In the summer window, the Rossoneri made nine signings and they followed that up with three reinforcements last month. 12 players, all of which have performed well, for less than €30m is very impressive. Down below are the costs of the deals.

They started with the free signing of Pierre Kaluu and followed that up with the dry loans of Brahim Diaz and Diogo Dalot. Ciprian Tatarusanu was signed for €500K, and they also redeemed Alexis Saelemaekers for €3.5m.

Sandro Tonali cost €10m (paid loan), Ante Rebic was redeemed for €5m, JP Hauge was brought in for €4.1m, Simon Kjaer was redeemed for €3.5m. And in the winter, Tomori cost €1m (paid loan), Meite cost €500K (paid loan) and Mandzukic arrived on a free.
