Mediaset: Bad news for Pioli regarding Rebic’s condition – Leao ready to step in vs. Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are increasingly unlikely to be able to call upon Ante Rebic for Saturday’s derby against Inter, according to a report.

Rebic dislocated his elbow during the 2-0 win over Crotone last month and has been out since, with new tests on the injury expected during the week.

According to the latest from SportMediaset (via MilanLive), there is some positive news for Pioli to digest as captain Alessio Romagnoli is fully fit and will be able to partner Simon Kjaer, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also recovered from Coronavirus and will be able to play.

The bad news comes on the Rebic front though, as the Croatia international has not yet recovered from the elbow injury occurred against Crotone therefore it is highly likely that he will miss the game against Inter.

Pioli is considering all alternatives to play on the left and at the top of the list is Rafael Leao. There is also the possibility of moving Calhanoglu to the left but that seems a remote chance at this point.
