AC Milan are close to being able to confirm the renewal of playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu, according to a report.
The media headlines regarding Milan are being dominated by the team’s poor form and the fact that the management have thus far been unable to secure the futures of two key performers in Donnarumma and Calhanoglu, both of whom are only under contract until the end of the season meaning a cloud is hanging over them at the moment.
According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the Turkey international is very close to renewing until 2025 with a salary almost doubled compared to his current one.
The playmaker will see his salary increase from €2.5m net per season to €4.5m per season including bonuses. It represents a nice pay rise for Calhanoglu, who when on form has proven himself to be a key contributor to Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 system.
