Mediaset: Elliott Management ready to make another exception in order to keep star midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

The issue of Franck Kessie’s renewal is continuing to dominate the discussions at Casa Milan and the club are willing to raise their offer to him.

Given that Kessie has his contract expiring in 2022 and he has ended up in the crosshairs of some English clubs, the matter has become more urgent for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to resolve.

As SportMediaset reports (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have understood that resolving the long-term future of Kessie is a priority and therefore they are ready to make an exception to their internal ‘salary ceiling’ and guarantee him a contract worth €5.5-6m net per season.

The Rossoneri absolutely do not want to risk losing him, as it would be very damaging for the image of their project given that they have already lost both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu on free transfers after they both snubbed a renewal to try a new experience.
