Mediaset: Fiorentina defender pushing for €30m Milan move – Barcelona starlet an alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are insisting on the signing of Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina despite having a much clearer path to Federico Chiesa, a report claims.

According to SportMediaset, Fiorentina have expressed an openness to enter negotiations over Chiesa, but Milan want Milenkovic with the two clubs having been talking to each other for some time.

Before the window closes technical director Paolo Maldini would like to give Stefano Pioli the defender he wants and needs, and Milenkovic is the man who is considered the right profile with the pair having already worked together.

The 22-year-old has already expressed his desire to move to Milan and would like to be satisfied, but Fiorentina do not want to give a discount. President Rocco Commisso has offered a contract renewal to Milenkovic but the talks have not taken off.

Fiorentina are continuing to demand €40m for the Serbia international but agent Fali Ramadani could be a very useful ally. At €30m therefore the deal could be closed and La Viola would have the money needed to sign Fazio from Roma to replace him.

As an alternative to Milenkovic, the Rossoneri could turn to Milenkovic’s team-mate German Pezzella, whose card is valued by Fiorentina at €20m, while Jean-Clair Todibo could arrive from Barcelona.
