Mediaset: Juventus banish Chiesa amid pre-contract fears – Milan and Inter hold talks

Juventus are looking to try and find a new club for Federico Chiesa but they fear he could wind down his deal and sign somewhere for free next season, with AC Milan linked.

That is according to SportMediaset, who report that the tug of war between Juventus and Chiesa experienced another decisive stage yesterday, with the decision being made by the Turin-based club to banish him from first team training.

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and head coach Thiago Motta are clear: the Italian winger has known for some time that he is not in their plans and they will not go back on this. The mission now is to sell him by the end of the window for around €25m, his residual value on the accounts.

Juve fear that Chiesa already has a verbal agreement with another team for summer 2025, when his deal expires, which causes an issue both with regards to the revenue going down the drain and the idea that they might now have to pay his salary for another year.

However, Chiesa’s situation at present could motivate him to leave immediately because it is one thing to be able to train with the first team, perhaps snatching a few minutes on the pitch, but it is another thing to have an entire season on the sidelines.

Last week his agent Fali Ramadani met with both the Inter and Milan managements to see if they are keen. The Nerazzurri seem unsure because Beppe Marotta loves a free transfer but it seems difficult to adapt Chiesa to Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2.

For their Rossoneri it would be a sort of ‘wild card’ move, one that Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself recently said that the club remain open to, even if the salary that the winger earns and the fee that Juve want make it seem more like fantasy.

In recent weeks, Chiesa has also been linked to Napoli (the tactical argument would also apply to Antonio Conte) and Roma (who then signed Matias Soulé). Teams in the Premier League and Bayern Munich took information in July but nothing has happened since, leaving his situation a mystery.

  1. This is an interesting dilemma to be in. Juventus want Kalulu, Chiesa is available, the only thing is Chiesa earns as much as Leao, which is crazy money for a guy that will miss a portion of the season due to injury.

    1. agree. Chiesa is certainly a great player when fit. we could get it for cheap. If he lowers his salary a bit or perhaps move it towards an incentive based salary (i.e you make 3M but if you play 80% of the games and score as many as Leao then a bonus to equal Leao’s slary) . He’d be a great coup. Will he lower his demands and will he stay healthy? I think not. on his salary demands. I’m sure some mid table premier league club will splash the salary. I would much rather lower my salary and play at a bigger club than to make more at a mid table club. but what do i know. lol

  2. Even if he arrives, he has to cut his wage and he has to accept that he’s not gonna be a starter right away.

Kinda don’t want him to come with the resurgence of salad and Sammy.

Not saying he’s bad player, just a tad overrated because he is italian, as usual.

  3. I don’t know why the media is still pushing this Chiesa and Milan story.
Juventus is trying to get rid of Chiesa because he wants a higher salary than he currently makes. They want 25 million and Chiesa wants a 6 million per year contract, for a player that would be coming off the bench at Milan.
Milan already has 4 wingers plus Saelemaekers. Milan needs Saelemaekers versatility and defensive work a lot more than another 1v1 winger.
There are couple other Juventus players I would rather take in exchange for Saelemaekers or Kalulu, but have zero interest in Chiesa. Give me Cambiaso

  4. Think juve should keep chiesa and play him. Of he does good he could get an extension and a raise. If not he leaves for free..it’s a bitter pill to lose a player on free but they aren’t exactly stacked with wingers. The only winger they have is weah and let’s be honest if it wasn’t for his last name he’d be playing in a relegation lvl club

  5. Chiesa is a big player. I love Alexis but who is more likely to make a difference in a champions league semi-final game vs Barcelona out of the two ? Or vs Inter? The answer is not Alexis.
Those who call him overrated are crazy. He is a player who always looks dangerous when the ball is at his feet.

Alexis will improve. But we would benefit from another Italian and players ready now.

    1. Agree 💯- I’d like Salad to stay but Chiesa’s world class on his day. And Italian… Ideally Jube accept Kalulu instead – and vice versa.

    2. But they shouldn’t even get rid of him. Okafor was ok from the bench but realistically where will he play? Even Saelemakers is ahead of him on LW, if Chiesa comes Okafor will not see the pitch. He is behind even Jovic at CF, so he has no position to play. He is 3rd choice maybe.

    3. Agreed. Chiesa is great when he is fit, Alex is just on a level or two below.

If he lowers his wage demand, and/or change it to incentive based, it would be fantastic.

Also, I can’t remember the last player to move from gobba di Merda to ACM with success.

  6. So there’s a potential top player available for a cheap fee but somehow fans don’t want him because he has a big salary haha wtf is this place full of accountants the SM comment section is my vision of hell

    1. Look man. We’re stacked on wings. We really are. What’s the point in bringing a winger if he is available when we have 5 of them already? No seriously? If he wasn’t Italian nobody would bat an eye that he is available.

It’s not like he is a world beater player anyway. 27 years old and misses 10+ games a season. Consistently

      1. I don’t agree no one would bat an eyelid if he wasn’t Italian. To me that’s more the likes of Retegui, Bove, Zaniolo etc

        1. Well pulisic came 2 Milan when we needed a rw and he took a madafakin paycut to join.
What exactly is the pro of getting chiesa here? Spend 25M on a winger so one of the wingers we spend 25M on last summer sits?

    2. How come we can profitable with expensive chiesa. Our management like cheap player. Our banker say, it is unattractive deal.

  7. I don’t know if we need him or not, but the way Juve is treating him is so unprofessional. I don’t think there is any way back and he will be out of Juventus for sure.

I wouldn’t want to see such unprofessional behavior from Milan. I know I know we have Ballo-Toure and Origi but we always were upfront with them.

  8. He is Federico Chiesa bro .. World class player when physically fit ..Everyone knows his talent.. Everyone can get injured, maybe this season Leao and Pulisic also get injured acl who knows

    1. Milan aim is qualification for champion league, so we don’t expensive chiesa. Inter aim is scudetto, so inter need chiesa.

  9. According to Fabrizio Romano:
🔴⚫️ AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca: “We’ve closed out market with Youssouf Fofana. We need to focus on the outgoings now”.
“We have too many players, so we are on it”.
If that’s correct, then I don’t see us trying to get either Samardzic, Chiesa or Abraham, and we need to get rid of some players.

  10. Well, Juve are in quite the pickle with him. Their best move was probably to renew with his increased salary, take the hit in the short term and put him on the market for sale. Instead, they have an outcast whose market value is 30-40M, 2 weeks to sell him to anyone or they lose all the cash. They literally have no strong cards, at most they will push him to accept some other club’s lower salary or he will risk to stay on the sideline for full year. Or it will be a Mbappe situation all over again and he will be allowed to play.

Anyway, it’s good to see that our competitors also struggle from time to time with their players renewals.

  11. What does Juve know ow that others don’t.

Is his injury more than what we are led to believe. Can’t imagine treating a player like Chiesa this way.

  12. Can we move on from this please….. Completely useless attempt to drag readers along for clicks….

    Chiesa is
    1. often injured
    2. not the same player after ACL
    3. doesn’t have a defined position
    4. too expensive to be a bench player

    Don’t need Samardzic either…

    #LiberateLiberali

      1. Puli never had an ACL. Players aren’t the same after an ACL. I hope you understand that.

Otherwise I don’t understand how your argument is relative…

        1. i already told him Puli took a paycut to join Milan and we needed a rw last summer. We dont need a winger this summer.

        2. “Players aren’t the same after an ACL. I hope you understand that. ”

Not true. It might affect the next season after the surgery but after that it has no affect on the performance. Have you had an ACL injury? You do realize ACL is just a ligament that supports the knee in lateral movement and humans can even live perfectly fine without an ACL? Even some athletes can coupe without the ligament.

If there is a drop in performance after the ACL injury it’s either a mental thing or poorly executed rehabilitation. FFS, it’s just a ligament that doesn’t “improve” your running or moving. It’t there to support the knee from moving sideways. That’s it. It doesn’t take away speed or strength.

  13. Lmao, juve can’t get a penny for him, the player doesn’t wAnt to go abroad and nobody in italy will pay them what they want for soon to be free player ,i would offer them 3 mil just to tease them since they ask for 25+

  14. I think he’d be a nice replacement for Leao if Leao was leaving. I don’t understand the aversion to paying people and preference for buying players instead. Let’s see, Juve will buy some winger for 30m, sign them to 2m/year contract, have them be washed up and sell them 3 years from now for 10m. Rather than just extending Chiesa for 3 years???

I swear this all seems like a giant collusion to keep players from making the money they arguably deserve. The whole idea of players as assets instead of members of the team is kinda disgusting. Juve sucks. And their owner sucks more. What if we just said that players can no longer be bought and sold, only swapped, with max dollars exchanged like 10m to help even things up in some cases???

  15. I bet if it was Milan not renewing Italian superstar player’s contract, the whole Italian media will be agog on the “Muricans”, blaming Americans for Italian problems.
But, Juventus is owned and run by Italians so they can pass for treating one of theirs this way.

Anyway, like I had said, JUST SIGN CHIESA ASAP, WE WILL FIGURE OUT WHERE TO PLAY HIM LATER. This is the kind of opportunity in the market that we shouldn’t sleep on.
Please, I hope management can read this, please.

  16. So sad if this true. Best italy atacking player are struggle to find club and even get banished. Lucky that club name juve , if ACM do this then whole Sempre milan will be riot. Just selling one player 70m euro that not even the best midfielder for italy already crime for ppl in SM
