Mediaset: Latest on Calhanoglu and Donnarumma renewals; two options for Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have the renewal of three key stars on their agenda over the coming days and weeks, according to a report.

The Rossoneri’s plans have changed over the last couple of weeks, as the idea of a Ralf Rangnick-led renewal have now been scrapped in favour of building around the core that Stefano Pioli has created.

As SportMediaset are reporting (via MilanNews), the renewal of Hakan Calhanoglu is a topic that the Milan management intend to tackle soon as his contract expires in 2021. The Rossoneri want to retain his services and will meet with his entourage to discuss an extension soon.

Meanwhile, Gigio Donnarumma is getting closer to signing an extension until 2023 with retention of the €6million net salary he currently earns and inclusion of a €2million Scudetto bonus.

Finally, they add that Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to know as soon as possible which team he will play for next year. His agent Raiola and Milan have already had the first contacts for the renewal, and the Swede would like €6m net per season, while the Rossoneri club are willing to offer €4m plus bonuses.

The 38-year-old is in a hurry to know his future, and he wants to know what Milan’s ambitions are. If they are not serious, the striker will return to Sweden and play for Hammarby, the team he owns 25% shares of.
