AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is leaning towards starting Rafael Leao over Krzysztof Piatek once again for Sunday’s trip to Roma, a report claims.
The Rossoneri put together a very impressive opening 45 minutes against Lecce which Leao was at the heart of, but his wastefulness in front of goal was perhaps a reminder of the raw nature of the Portuguese starlet.
A recent report from SportMediaset claimed that Suso could be dropped to accommodate both Piatek – who netted off the bench against Lecce – and Leao.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it) though reported that the Spaniard is in fact set to keep his place in the starting XI as part of an attacking trident.
According to a fresh update from SportMediaset – as cited by MilanNews.it – Leao has ‘overtaken’ Piatek in the race for a starting spot in Sunday night’s match at the Olimpico.
Despite his goal as a substitute last weekend, the Poland international is expected to initially sit on the bench against the Giallorossi.
