Mediaset: Liverpool serious about Milan midfielder with €8m-a-year contract ready – the player’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

Liverpool are serious about landing Franck Kessie and are willing to offer him a substantial pay rise, according to a report.

The issue of Kessie’s renewal continues to dominate the media as the Milan management cannot afford to lose another key asset after Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu walked away for free at the end of their contracts, joining Paris Saint-Germain and Inter respectively.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Liverpool have a concrete interest in the Ivorian midfielder, for whom they are ready to offer a contract worth €8m net per season. Milan for their part remain willing to please the player, who is demanding €6m-a-year to sign a new deal.

After the goodbyes of Donnarumma and Calhanoglu for nothing, the Milan fans are worried about the outcome of the Kessie situation, but there are no signs from the former Atalanta man that he wants to leave the Rossoneri at present.

  1. I know this is just the media fuelling its own rumour mill, but if there’s any truth in that it’s time to sell up and reinvest. Otherwise he leaves for free at the end of the year.

  2. Tie him up for a long time – thats what we need to do.

He’s got his best years ahead of him.

I want to see a three-man midfield with Kessie, Bennacer and Tonalli.
