AC Milan are hoping to be able to offload Lucas Paqueta before the end of the window and Lyon seem strong candidates to land him, a report claims.
According to the broadcaster SportMediaset (via MilanLive), Milan are hoping to collect €22-23million from the sale of Paquetà, but so far no club has made this type of offer. Lyon are very interested in the player but must first complete some sales before they can put their concrete proposal on the table.
The Ligue 1 club already have an agreement in place with Paquetà on personal terms. As for the formula of the operation, it should not be excluded that Lyon tries to obtain the former Flamengo star on a paid loan with option or obligation to buy.
The obligation could potentially be linked to qualification for the 2020-21 Champions League or other targets, just as we saw in the deal that sent Suso to Sevilla.
Clearly Milan are hoping for a definitive sale to have an important sum available to invest in the incoming transfer market, but the main priority is just to get Paqueta out somehow.
