AC Milan are contemplating making a move for Atalanta defender Matteo Ruggeri so that there is more depth in Theo Hernandez’s position, a report claims.
As has been reported by Sport Mediaset’s Claudio Raimondi (via Milan Zone), Ruggeri would require a price tag of at least €10 million if Milan are to have any success.
There is a desire for a new left-back at the club because Fode Ballo-Toure is expected to leave the club in the coming weeks with Bologna and Fulham thought to be very interested.
Hernandez is the first choice option at left-back and that will not change, but Stefano Pioli needs another player who can operate in that area.
Ruggeri has not been overly impressive at Atalanta since he started to get regular minutes in the first-team squad, but Milan think he could be an option just to bring depth. Being Italian also helps with registration issues.
Florenzi and Kalulu is capable to play as LB.
Yes but I think another Italian defender is not going to hurt, giving all our problems
If we play right footed player on left, then we need to play with inverted wingback tactics.
and i dont think with our current tactics we want that
One of Theo’s role is allowed to roam from width when the team in attacking-phase. That’s include run with the ball to center pitch, like what Theo showed us the wonderful goals vs Atalanta (2021-2022) & vs Lazio (past season).
So, it doesn’t matter LB is Left-footed or Right-footed, as long as he can help build up play. Thats what our “Complete-Wingback” role. He can play inverted or wider, anything what opportunities arise.
Both of them are better as a RB and CB, not a LB. We need one more player as a LB, but I’m not sure Ruggeri would be it for me.
Florenzi? LMAO!!! did you see him play yesterday? Come on, man.
Ruggeri, Calafiori…. whoever is that Italian kid from Juve – let’s get one in.
We dont need another LB. Florenzi is okay as depth maybe for next 3 years ahead, then hopefully Bartesaghi ready to step up to the first team in 3 years ahead.
Florenzi already proofed that he was good enough to cover Theo past season. Good at defending, can direct the ball to attack pretty well with his own style (Not Theo’s style) with involved in build up & vertical passes, maybe because Florenzi was a midfielder in his early days at Roma.
