Lucas Beltran

Mediaset: Milan admirers of River Plate star who has given green light to move

AC Milan are one of the clubs that are interested in signing River Plate striker Lucas Beltran and the player is open to the move, a report claims.

There have been various reports over the past few days suggesting that Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze will not be the last additions to the attacking department and that a young striker is being targeted as well.

As reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews24), River Plate star Lucas Beltran is among the targets that are being looked at for that very role, namely a natural No.9 who can rotate with Olivier Giroud and has room to grow.

The Argentine has an Italian passport and he is also attracting interest from Fiorentina, but has given his preference to the Rossoneri who will play in the Champions League next season.

The 22-year-old has 15 goals and 3 assists in 31 games across all competitions for the Buenos Aires club in 2023.

  1. A very promising player, but the only potential issue is he doesn’t have the height of Giroud. He’s 1.76m. It may be an issue in the Serie A.

      1. He won’t play the same style as Giroud if people are expecting that. I am all for this transfer though. His Italian passport will shorten any paper work or delay.

        1. yeah i know.. Milan plays with the target man so it makes sense for the next ST to be a target man type.
Still, that can change if a right player is bought.

      2. Lautaro and Giroud both play at the same position but in different role. What the article meant is a forward with similar characteristic to Giroud, for forward with different characteristic, Milan already signed Okafor.

    1. Alejo Veliz, this is the boy we want him Colombo and Lazitec could save us 10’s of millions if we handle them with care!!

Alejo Veliz his finishing is so Batistuta like it is scary and I watched Batistuta for 10 years in Seria A and this boy has that same clean strike and stone coldness in front of goal not to mention the firecracker of a shot!!

    1. Rebic is on his way out already, so that alone may be enough. We have enough time to sort this out.

This striker, despite his lack of height, is promising and has an Italian passport. Like many Argentine players do.

  2. Completely unnecessary transfer. Our attack has more than enough players. It’s better to offload rebic and origi/lazetic. There is still no Kessie replacement, that hole is still there. Better spend more money on quality DM. We don’t have Theo deputy considering Ballo departure. Giroud okafor colombo are enough for now. Current squad size is 33 ffs. We need to offload at least 5 players.

    1. We don’t have a real CF for Giroud. Some say Okafor, but I have a feeling he’ll be playing as a winger more. They are working on other signings and off loading players you know?

Rebic is nearly on his way out with Besiktas. He’s even further out the door than Ballo-Toure, because there are documents already being traded. Colombo is likely to get loaned out.

  3. You need a younger striker and going after players who play and score goal in a league with less quality compare to Seria A, When you already have young strikers like Colombo, Nastri who known the leagues and have proven themselves to some extend during their previous loan spell.. When will Milan learn to trust in their own youth players and if they have to sell them they sell very cheap and buy youth players from other team with high fee.

With that being said, i will think Alejo Veliz get involve in the box 18 and is more a goal puncher than Beltran who play more deep from the box 18.

  4. Where is Cutrone??
    Y’all saying we’ve Colombo
    What if colombo can’t suffice??
    We need more options
    R. Madrid don’t need gular but they sign him because after 2 years modric & Kroos ain’t gonna be playing regularly
