Mediaset: Milan and Basel disagree over Calafiori transfer formula

By Euan Burns -

AC Miland and FC Basel are currently in a disagreement over the formula of Riccardo Calafiori’s potential move to the Rossoneri, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the two sides have come to what is a pretty common stumbling block in proceedings.

Milan want a player to be the backup to Theo Hernandez once Fode Ballo-Toure has been sold, and Calafiori is the first choice.

The Rossoneri want to bring him in on loan with an option to make the deal permanent in 2024, so that they can see how well he adapts to the move.

The Swiss side would much rather he joins Milan on a permanent deal, or moves on loan with Milan having an obligation to buy him for an agreed fee in 2024.

Calafiori is an attractive proposition given he is Italian and has less of an effect on Milan’s squad registration than Ballo-Toure.

  1. I don’t see how Califiori is better than Bozzolan. And he (Bozzola) was sent to the abyss of Italian football so that our genius coach will avoid the pressure of playing him because, as you’ve guessed right, “he is not ready”.
