Mediaset: Milan closing in on signing of striker as Ibrahimovic gives his approval

AC Milan are moving closer and closer towards being able to confirm the signing of striker Olivier Giroud, according to a report.

The renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic was made official recently, and it is a sign of continuity that Milan wanted to give to the group. The Swede will be the leader of a young and growing team for another year, but his injury problems this season have shown he can’t play close to every game which is why a new striker has been sought.

According to the latest from SportMediaset (via MilanNews), there is strong optimism about the arrival of the French centre-forward ahead of next season with negotiations heading in the right direction. The Milan management even have a two-year contract ready worth €4m net per season.

The Rossoneri have decided to go for Giroud because Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo is still raw, while for Dusan Vlahovic the asking price of Fiorentina is too high. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also given his approval to the arrival of Giroud.
