Mediaset: Milan could lower Ibrahimovic’s salary amid physical concerns – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to continue together beyond this season, as the Swede is still performing on a high level. However, there could be some changes to the current contract.

The 39-year-old currently earns €7m per year from the Rossoneri but as he has missed about 45% of the games this season, it might be hard to justify those figures for next season as well. Per Mediaset (via MilanLive), Milan could lower the salary.

The new contract could have a fixed part of €4m per year, plus various bonuses related to appearances, personal and team achievements to increase the final figure. And with those bonuses in place, Ibrahimovic could perhaps accept the solution.

As the report concludes, the final ten games will give Milan a good indication of Ibrahimovic’s physical condition and this could affect the negotiations. Either way, the striker is expected to remain at the club for one more season.
