It’s not exactly a secret that Milan are looking to bring in a playmaker before the transfer window closes, following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu. Several names have been mentioned, making the matter very interesting.
According to the latest reports from SportMediaset, as cited by MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have settled on one player as the primary target: Josip Ilicic. The 33-year-old, despite his age, would bring a lot to the team.
His contract with Atalanta will expire next year and due to his age, he wouldn’t cost a fortune for the Rossoneri. Previous reports that he perhaps could leave the Bergamo side for around €5m, which is a reasonable figure.
However, it wouldn’t be a long-term solution for the club although Brahim Diaz is expected to be the name for the future. Therefore, we will simply have to wait and see if this report is correct.

4 me Vlasic is better, if not then Sabitzer. Ilisic is more experiensive than the latter, but one of vlasic or sabitzer would be longer solution than Ilisic.
Ilicic would cost 3-4 times less than Sabitzer and is about 3 times better than him, and can also play AMC and RW. Good solution for the short term, especially if they expect Diaz to stay and take that position in the future. Vlašić would be ideal, he can also play both positions like Ilicic, getting them both would also be good.
If we are to consider ilicic for the playmaker rolePioli can train Hauge to fit into that role too as a longterm solution since ilicic is 33yrs and wouldnt play more than 3yrs on top level.
