Mediaset: Milan have doubts about Mandzukic with alternative target identified

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not just looking at signing Mario Mandzukic for the attack, a report claims, due to doubts over the condition of the Croatian.

As we reported earlier via our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota, confirmations regarding the Mandzukic rumours have arrived and Milan are considering a contract until June.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri management have rather large doubts about the physical-athletic condition of the 34-year-old.

Due to his age and the fact he has been without a game for nearly 10 months, he certainly will not be able to make an immediate contribution to Stefano Pioli’s team, who on the contrary asked for reinforcements immediately ready to join the fight.

Evaluations are in progress with a contract offer to Mandzukic being draft of less than €2million net salary for six months. However, the ‘Plan B’ is being kept ready and that is Leonardo Pavoletti of Cagliari, another player who has not been playing regularly.

He would represent the ideal deputy to Ibrahimovic for his technical and athletic characteristics and could be useful, with a decision expected soon.
