Mediaset: Milan interested in two centre-backs; latest on pursuit of Chelsea midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have two defenders in their sights as they look to address their defensive depth, while the pursuit of Tiemoue Bakayoko is apparently not over.

Speaking to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Simone Cerrano took stock of the current state of Milan’s market, starting by claiming that Milan are looking at alternatives to Wesley Fofana who will join Leicester for €40m.

The first alternative is Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is very popular with the management due to his flexibility, but the evaluation of Bologna is not as popular as they want €20-25m. Bologna have already identified its replacement in Lyanco of Turin.

Milan has also asked for information for Atalanta’s Berat Djimsiti, but the Bergamo club have no intention of selling the Albania international at present.

In the background there is also the negotiation for Tiemoue Bakayoko. PSG are also interested in the player but Milan have two allies: Thomas Tuchel – the PSG head coach who would like a midfielder with other characteristics – and the player, who would prefer Milan. In the last few days, some glimmers could reopen.
