AC Milan are weighing up the potential sale of two midfield players to get a replacement they consider to be an ideal number six, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via SempreMilan.it), Milan are hoping that the interest from Ajax, RC Lens and Marseille in Charles De Ketelaere could trigger an auction that brings Milan the €28m they are demanding.
Things are a bit different for Rade Krunic, but the Rossoneri management could decide to let the Bosnian leave for a fee of €15m if that amount were to be offered by Fenerbahce, who the player would be happy to join.
Raising over €40m from those two exits would then see Milan use the money on Teun Koopmeiners who is valued at around €30-35m by Atalanta and is seen as a player who would be perfect to occupy the spot at the base of the new three-man midfield Stefano Pioli is using.
If this happens, it would be a great signing
Koopmeiners for Krunic and CDK. A good deal with immediate impact for our team as much as I like Krunic (and still having hope for CDK to get better).
If I want to be pessimistic, I’d say Atalanta players rarely shine as much in other teams. Even Kessie took a few years before he got to the level that he was running when at Atalanta.
I don’t think that Milan will offer more than 35m + 5m of bonuses for Koopmeiners, it would not be in our management’s spirit to put 40+ mill for a midfielder, at most they’ll put that amount for a striker.
So it would be Koopmeiners, and not Domi or Douarth who will be kessie replacement…

If we sell Krunic, then it might be a necessary signing. And certainly be covered if Origi and CDK go. But Krunic and Origi alone would be able to cover a transfer almost.

One issue here is that it sounds like Pioli has promised spots/time to different players like Musah and how would he fit that in if he brought in a clear starter?

I think he is even now. I see a 4-2-3-1 with Reijnders and Musah at the DM spots with Pulisic in front. We might have too many “good” players but not enough “great” players.

We have three competitions, including the CL to compete in. Everyone will have plenty of playing time. Even if we sign Coopmeiners for midfield.
In the end, first and foremost milan have to sell cdk.

Hardly anyone will give the 28 million we are asking for CDK, and I even less believe that Atalanta would give up another important player after they received a big financial injection from Manchester!

Also Giancarlo Dominguez is like the fifth year and more in Italy while koopmeiners doesn’t reach his third year in Italy so you are clueless. At last if they got that money it would be wiser to buy Dominguez and Hjulmand who both can be bought for either 10m each which could be 20m for both or even less because they both are in the last year of their contract. And maybe even less than 10 m tbh and the rest and the remaining could be used in other positions or just keep them if the feel like they need to

I like Dominguez as a player, but Coopmeiners is a class player and several steps above.
Koopmeiners is fine, but I don’t think Dominguez is that far off and he’s 50% cheaper. We still need a good striker and maybe a CB. We need to spread our money around more. Inter is on the verge of signing Scamacca and will have him, Thuram and Martinez as strikers. We have….Giroud and…..nothing else.

We needed depth for midfielder as we lost Tonali, Vrancx, Diaz, and Bakayoko, also Bennacer until mid 2024. so it was make sense to pursue more good players than just 1 great player.
But now after the depth problem solved we can try for better player if we need some new player.

Didn’t see the Krunic thing coming, but if it means bringing in Koopmeiners… no arguments there. It will definitely give us the depth we need to compete on all fronts. Better yet that he is familiar with Serie A.

Talk about “fluidity” is quite exaggerated. It is pretty easy to spot the difference, also today, between a 4-3-3 and a 4-2-3-1. In my view, we have not changed the formation from previous season, and it is not more fluid.
Remember guys ,gery said he wont signing player that cost more than 30m euro for one player. Beside do you really believe ACM can sell CDK 28m euro & krunic 15m euro ??? . I believe pioli will talk to krunic and blocked krunic exit . Selling krunic will make whole midfield 100% new player and thats too risky
This is the same press that claimed Rebic would bring in €10 million, right? He was sold for €0.5 million. Krunic is maybe €2 million at best and I doubt anyone is paying more than €25 million for CDK. Milan don’t have the money for Koopmeiners. Anyone with half a brain knows Dominguez is the cheapest and most obvious solution at DM. He should have been signed long before/instead of Musah.

LOL. Is anyone actually that foolish to believe we will spend 40M on ANY player let alone a defensive midfielder????? First Redbird hasn’t spent over 20-22M (not including bonuses) on any player to date. Second IF we would make an exception and spend that amount it would be better suited towards a Striker – not a defensive midfielder. We just spent 20M on Musah who they see as a starter. I highly doubt we would spend double that amount on this player. I could see us replacing Krunic with the 19 yr old kid from Redbull – but not a 40M player.

Milan need a defensive midfielder.
Krunic can’t play as a defensive midfielder; he’s not quick with the ball and makes late decision before releasing the ball. He’s a good player though, but not the kind Milan need in that position. Pioli will switch Yunus Musah to DM, and if Milan manage to sell Krunic for 15m or more. Getting Nicolas Dominguez will be better for DM, he cover the DM position better than Teun Koopmeiners (spending 35-40m+ on Teun Koopmeiners is overpriced).
Atalanta usually use Teun Koopmeiners as a Mezzala (mid that shows technical ability to drive the mid plays vertically), and in that pos we had Reijnders & Musah (Upcoming transfer).
Adli & CDK might be a better Regista than him, for Bennacer’s cover. So dont really need to buy him.
