Mediaset: Milan set two-week timeline for Maignan amid Sportiello option

Mike Maignan’s recovery is going slower than expected and AC Milan are thus evaluating their options. Marco Sportiello could arrive already in January, but it will depend on the Frenchman’s condition, a report claims.

Maignan will miss the first game after the break as he still hasn’t been able to get rid of the calf injury. It’s now a setback in the traditional sense, but Milan expected the recovery to go faster than what is currently the case.

According to Mediaset, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have set a two-week timeline for Maignan. Should he fail to recover before that, the Rossoneri will sit down with Atalanta and negotiate the early transfer of Sportiello.

Milan already have an agreement with Sportiello for the summer, as his contract with the Bergamo side will expire then. It remains to be seen if Atalanta will agree to let him go mid-season, which will force them to look for a new goalkeeper.
