Mediaset: Milan to use Christmas tree formation against Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will stick with the 4-3-2-1 ‘Christmas tree’ formation they used against Brescia for the trip to Verona, a report claims.

There is still uncertainty surrounding which system head coach Marco Giampaolo will deploy at the Stadio MarcoAntonio Bentegodi.

Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as reported on MilanChannel’s Twitter) suggested a 4-3-3 will be used for Sunday’s trip.

Meanwhile Tuttosport (via MilanNews) claimed that it will be either a 4-3-1-2 formation – which Giampaolo spent all summer working on – or a 4-3-3.

As per a report on MilanNews – who cite SportMediaset – states that the Rossoneri will in fact play with a 4-3-2-1 again as they did against Brescia.

Giampaolo will field the same trident as he did against Udinese, in which Suso played as a trequartista behind Krzysztof Piatek and Samu Castillejo.

However, this time the two Spaniards will play in behind the Polish center forward, with Ante Rebic to start on the bench.
