Mediaset: Milan planning to offer €12m man in Zirkzee talks – the latest

AC Milan have postponed a big investment in the attacking department until the summer transfer window, a report claims, and Alexis Saelemaekers could play a part in things.

According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan will spend on a new striker for the future before the 2024-25 season and at the moment the big target is Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

It cannot be ruled out that the two managements will talk about Zirkzee on Saturday during the match between the Rossoneri and the Rossoblù at San Siro.

Given that Olivier Giroud is not expected to renew his contract which expires at the end of the season, the Rossoneri need to sign a high-level replacement and to date the favourite is the Dutchman.

The deal could include Saelemeakers going the other way on a permanent deal, given the winger is on loan at Bologna with an option to buy set at €12m, which could bump down the cash outlay required.

The overall operation for Zirkzee will cost around €40m (including any counterparts involved), but if the 22-year-old were to get back into red hot form after a bit of a drought lately, it cannot be ruled out that the asking price might rise again.
