Mediaset: Milan working hard on trio of signings – all three want to join

AC Milan are working on three signings above all at the moment and it would see three problem areas addressed, a report claims.

According to reports from SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan are one step away from closing the purchase of Christian Pulisic. He is ‘one step away’ from the Rossoneri, because Chelsea are expected to accept the bid of €18m fixed plus €4m bonuses.

Decisive news is expected between tonight and tomorrow, while a four-year contract worth €4m net per season is ready for the forward to sign.

The Rossoneri don’t want to stop there and would like to close another signing before Monday’s meeting for preseason. Stefano Pioli is pushing to have Tijjani Reijnders in the squad, but there is still distance between the €20m offered and the €25m AZ Alkmaar want.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata wants to return to play in Italy and for this reason he has already given the go-ahead for a potential transfer to Milan. The Spanish striker has a high salary (€6.5m net per season), but he would be prepared to reduce it.

The alternative is Gianluca Scamacca, and Milan have proposed an exchange deal involving Divock Origi, but West Ham have said no.

  1. So all road indicates to Morata! OK. Not bad, I think. We can go for another big investment for a striker next season. This season other areas will be fixed. Not a bad plan at all!

    1. Big investment?! By this Milan?! They’re barge ing like the lowest gypsies for 20 million player, trying to get him for 19… and yiu think these gypos will make a big investment?! The only big thing would be another Tonalli! So, ask yourself who’s going to be the NEXT BIG SALE?! Theo?! Rafa?!
This Milan makes me ashamed for still being their fan for 31 years!
Cheap & greedy bastards, these Americans are!

      #RedBirdOut

  2. So all indications leading to Morata. For me, the plan seems good. We fix other areas this season then may move for a really good forward next season, meanwhile settle for a decent one. Not bad at all!

  3. Why Morata?????
Rather bring a young striker that we can atleast have hope for. Morata gives you no hope. He needs 10 chances to score 1. regardless of were he plays which has been every where.

  4. Not bad at all. We get a decent forward (may be not ideal), while other areas get fixed. We can invest to another really good forward next season. I am looking for Sam Chukuzee as well. That will be a real catch. Let’s see.

  5. Morata is gonna be 31 in oct. And while his build up play will be usefull, as some say, it aslo feels more like a replacment for Giroud than a sub.
The big problem is where Milan lost most points last season. Low block teams. He is totally useless there. Lost over 15 points there.
So you end up with a striker in decline on a high salary that cant deliver where you need it the most.
They will still need to cash out on a striker and soon. This isnt even a band-aid. Just a waste

    1. I agree with you, but I think the logic is Pulisic and/or Chukuwueze signing can unlocked those lowblock. Also midfielder who can carry the ball up in RLC and Reijnders can break those block and press. So the plan is quite clear. But the problem to close the deals still worries me.

        1. Leao can’t do it alone. Teams stack up their defender on the right to stop Leao, if Milan can distribute the attack through other wings or breakthrough midfield it could work. That’s where Brahim excel. Even messias have 5 goals and 2 assist. Chuk and pulisic would done better. If we can close the deal, and that’s a big if.

    1. really? why did Milan keep conciving goals even after Mike was back in action then?
End of the season. Mike let 27 balls past him and Tata 31.

      1. Maignan:
        29 games
27 goals conceded (0.93 per game)
        10 clean sheets (34.48%)

        Tatarusanu:
        23 games
31 goals conceded (1.35 per game)
        7 cleam sheets (30.43%)

Clearly Maignan is better. Don’t forget that Maignan allow Milan to play with higher line, his presence is also helpful for our attack.

        1. I never said Mike is not better. He is.
I said there is no much diffrence when it comes to why Milan lost. 4 goals is the diffrence and 3 of those are from supercopa.
Milan lost, or should I say was lost, last season ‘cuz pioli didnt adapt to the players he had..
Furthermore Tata did a super job as a sub. You gotta rate him as a sub not as a starter. fact

          1. Then count their winning percentage which obviously Maignan had better. The slump period was when Tata is in goal.

    2. Totally untrue. Milan were conceding too many goals the entire season, before and after Maignan was injured, mostly due to our weak midfield play and Calabria on the right side. To blame it on Tata is way too easy and just not true.

        1. What is the point of that stat? Nobody is arguing that Maignan is not the better keeper, but if you actually watched the games you would know most of those goals were not Tata’s fault. Unmarked men shooting from 3 yards out. Calabria getting caught out of position constantly and our midfield getting bossed. Those were not because of Tata. There is a reason Milan had to switch to 5 defenders. Once Pioli realized that Tomori and Kalulu was not working as a CB pairing then the Defense stared playing better with Kjaer and Thiaw in there with Tomori. Those are all reasons for why Milan conceded more goals this season, but if you want to just be dumb and blame it all on Tata go ahead.

          1. The fact remains that Tata is not good enough to be the deputy. He concede almost 50% more than Maignan in term of goals conceded per game. Tata cannot play the role of sweeper-keeper and that negatively affect the existing defensive system.

          2. Everyone knows that, that’s why they signed another keeper, but Tata was not the root of the problem last season. By saying that you are letting a lot of people off the hook and not addressing the real issue, which was our midfield getting run through, our CB pairing, and our RB.,

          3. I wasn’t the one who claim Tata is the root of the problem but he is clearly one of the major problem. He is not fit to the system so Pioli had to make changes before Maignan return.

          4. Look at your claim:

“Milan were conceding too many goals the entire season”

Clearly false as Milan concede 50% more goals per game when Tata was in goal which means not entire season but during Maignan’s injury.

  6. If Morata cost us 30 mil or more…let him go. Better bet on Sccamaca for that amount of money…
    So…where’s Chucky…? Why he isn’t mentioned here…??

  7. I don’t know why the big push for Reijnders. Musah is going to better. If they get them both that’s fine but if you can only get one it should be Musah.

  8. One of my problems with Morata is that if he turns out to be bad, it will be really hard to get rid of him with such a big salary. Just like Rebic and Origi currently.

  9. What is Milan looking for in morata for crying out loud. Morata is finished. I will still Olivier Giruod over him

    1. feel the same, for me right now Giroud is way better and with 6 years more in his body. This is a non-sense idea, a guy almost 31 years old and who will earn around 5m per season, 4 years. No logic or sense

  10. Morata? If milan sign him its a shame..please find another tonali or pirlo..what the heck is milan doing right now..i don’t think milan will be the big contender next season if they just hoping at rafa leao..
