Mediaset: Napoli and Inter circle as Milan struggle with Calhanoglu talks – the possible compromise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face a tricky situation regarding a possible new contract for Hakan Calhanoglu due to the playmaker’s demands, it is claimed.

Calhanoglu’s deal at Milan expires in June 2021 and there has been nothing in the media recently to suggest that he is close to signing a new contract, with a number of different outlets claiming teams like Manchester United are circling.

According to what Claudio Raimondi of SportMediaset has told MilanNews, the situation that Milan face regarding Calhanoglu’s renewal is a difficult one.

He claims that Milan do not want to go up to the €6million net per season that he and his agent Gordon Stipic are requesting, which would be a huge increase on the current €2.5m yearly he earns, but they are willing to go up to €5m.

The gap is wide, and  there are also several clubs in Italy such as Napoli and Inter who are watching the situation with great interest. Therefore, it is up to Milan to decide whether to raise the offer, but Raimondi believes the deal can be closed at €5m.
