Mediaset: Pioli already has clear ideas about starting XI for Sampdoria game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has already chosen his starting line-up for Monday’s opening game of the season against Sampdoria.

A lot of attention is on the transfer market, but in three days time Milan will open their new Serie A campaign with a game against Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. According to what SportMediaset are reporting (via MilanLive), Pioli already has very clear ideas on the starting XI that he will field.

Mike Maignan should get his first competitive appearance between the sticks, while the back four from right to left should consist of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez.

With Franck Kessie out injury, Sandro Tonali should act alongside Ismael Bennacer in the double pivot. The trio ahead of them should feature Alexis Saelemaekers on the right, Brahim Diaz as the No.10 and Rafael Leao on the left behind centre-forward Olivier Giroud.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Giroud.
