Mediaset: Probable Milan XI vs. Juventus – Pioli to stick with system; a chance for Paqueta

By Oliver Fisher -

Further confirmations have arrived suggesting that Stefano Pioli will not change formation for Friday’s trip to Turin for the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg.

Milan know they must score at least once against Juventus after the 1-1 draw at San Siro in the first leg (away goals being active), and they must do so without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Theo Hernandez and Samu Castillejo – all of whom are suspended.

According to the latest from broadcaster SportMediaset (via MilanLive), the formation will be a 4-2-3-1 – the one used in the weeks leading up to the break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ante Rebic will lead the attack, while Rafael Leao will start from the bench. Behind the Croatian will be Bonaventura, Paquetà and Calhanoglu as three attacking midfielders. Pioli wants to give the Brazilian a chance after his exploits in training.

In the midfield the duo of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will again be deployed. Simon Kjaer joins Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of defence, with Davide Calabria on the left and Andrea Conti on the right.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Conti, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Calabria; Kessie, Bennacer; Paquetà, Calhanoglu, Bonaventura; Rebic.
