Mediaset: PSG defender Thiago Silva close to securing Milan return – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

There are growing rumours that Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva will secure a return to AC Milan this summer eight years after leaving.

It was reported in Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport that the Brazilian desperately wants to secure a move back to the San Siro in order to finish his career where he rose to prominence in Europe.

Now, SportMediaset (via MilanLive) confirms that the 35-year-old, and they even go so far as to say that Thiago Silva’s return to Milanello is ‘close’, even if the current Serie A season has yet to end.

He could join Milan on a free transfer as his current deal at PSG expires on June 30, and he would inherit the leadership perhaps abandoned by Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the farewell of the Swede is likely.

Thiago Silva and Zlatan left the Diavolo together in summer 2012, when they were sold together to Paris Saint-Germain. They continued to play together and win in France until 2016, when Ibra moved to Manchester United as a free agent.
