Mediaset: PSG willing to give defender €5m-a-year but Milan prepare pay rise offer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to offer Theo Hernandez a pay rise to fend off interest from Leonardo and Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

As reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan will soon begin negotiations for the adjustment of Theo Hernandez’s contract, as the Frenchman currently earns €1.5m net per season.

Milan are aware of interest from PSG, who have been following the 23-year-old with interest for some time, and would have no problem putting forward a contract offer worth €5m per year in order to sign him.

After the Gianluigi Donnarumma signing, it appears that Leonardo would see no issue with spiting his former club once again, so it is important that directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara get the wheels in motion quickly over his pay rise in order to avoid being burned again.

Theo arrived at Milan from Real Madrid back in 2019, and since then he has asserted himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe, racking up 13 goals and 11 assists over his two seasons so far.

  1. In the late 90ies leonardo was one of my favourite ac milan players but cant really say the same any longer. He has been trying to weaken our teams for several years by offering lousy amounts for our players (donnarumma-romagnoli-theo-paqueta) and potentially causing unrest within the club and ending up taking donnarumma for free which propably always was the master plan so in my view he can pretty much sod off. Add to that his tenure in inter both as coach and caretaker and i really dont need to say anymore. When that is said if they really want theo they can offer us 120 mil or stop bugging us any longer.

  2. Milan management should get something clear now. Milan is not a small club, to remain at the top, our players should be reluctant to leave. I like the loan and pay them less first, then we need to pay as proportional to their performance. Kessie and Theo need the pay raise, they have worked for it. Another player that is working In that direction is Ben

  3. Theo needs to play as a winger, not as an LB. He’s a great attacker but fairly poor defender. If PSG offer 80M+ we should let him go.
