AC Milan and Barcelona are seriously considering a swap deal involving two defenders who are out of favour at the moment, a report claims.
According to what Claudio Raimondi has told SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan and Barcelona are weighing up the idea of an exchange deal involving centre-back Alessio Romagnoli and left-back Junior Firpo.
The negotiations between the Rossoneri and their captain for the renewal of his contract – which expires in 2022 – is at a standstill and his agent Mino Raiola would like to take him to the Blaugrana for a new adventure.
Meanwhile, directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been following Firpo for some time as a potential option to be Theo Hernandez’s deputy, and that is why the Spanish full-back could become part of the negotiations to lower the cash amount needed from Barcelona, hence why the clubs are evaluating the hypothesis of a swap deal.
