AC Milan will face competition from Liverpool if they wish to sign Schalke defender Ozan Kabak in the winter window, a report claims.
Milan were linked with moves for a number of defensive targets during the summer transfer window but one of the names that emerged late was Kabak.
In the end the Rossoneri management were not able to unlock a deal with the Bundesliga club and sign Kabak, but La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported how the contacts of Maldini and Massara could have sown the ground for the business to come.
An intermediary who was involved in the negotiations revealed his belief earlier in the month that the hopes of Kabak joining Milan are far from over.
According to the broadcaster SportMediaset (via MilanNews), it is not excluded that Milan will go back in for the Turkey international once the transfer window reopens, but the Rossoneri will have one more rival.
Given the severity of the injury to Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool have set their sights on Kabak, who Schalke believe that they can get in the region of €30m for.
