Reports: Medical booked as Harder to Milan is ‘done’ – the deal he will sign

This evening, there have been a flood of reports to say that AC Milan’s deal for Conrad Harder is completed, and we have had the news confirmed, too.

A move has come about really quickly, and praise has to be given for this. Milan learnt the news about Victor Boniface and then moved to pursue another. On the same day, a deal was agreed with Sporting, and now a deal is done with the player.

Now, our colleague from SempreMilan.it, Luca Maninetti, states that the move is ‘done’, and a medical visit is booked for tomorrow. Considering his agents have been in Milano today and yesterday, everything could be completed tomorrow.

The deal he will sign

MilanNews state that he is expected for his medical and signature ‘shortly’, and he will put pen to paper on a five year deal, until June 2030, which will be worth around €1.5 million net per season.

In terms of the deal itself, the parties have signed off on a deal for €24m, with €3m in add-ons with a 10% sell-on clause for the future, as Daniele Longo reports for Calciomercato.com.

After what happened in the last medical done by a potential Rossonero, the final stages are being anticipated eagerly.

  1. A really strange mercato I must say. I didn’t know much about Leao before he signed so here’s to hoping this guy explodes for us.

    2. it’s worrying, we don’t have world-class CB nor reliable goal scorer, that’s 2 main weapon that made Allegri known

  2. I don’t think he will be a starter. More like a sub. He might explode and prove us all wrong which I’m hoping for. There is still time to get another CB and CF.

  3. If this is the starter he got us Tare is fit for a spear. You better get a proper striker and this guy is just a talent for the future.

  4. If he is a potential talent, fine. If we get Vlahovic, I’ll be fine with this guy too. But if he’s a starter, we’ll have problems. We need an actual starter. Not just a promising prospect.

    1. With that said, I do hope I’m wrong and he explodes as a talent. But I said the same about Gimenez… and he’s not… quite there.

      1. Gimenez is so slow it is painful everytime a ball is played him. He can never hold on to the ball or turn and beat his marker..
Harder at least is physically strong and fast. I see him as a cheaper alternative to Højlund. Both transfer sum and wages.

        1. Yeah but his goalscoring record is terrible. This almost looks like a panic buy to me. They should be focusing on Vlahovic.

          1. Harder is so young so has only played 2 seasons professionally. Last year he was not a starter for Sporting. He has a good shot with his left foot though and is good in the air. Perhaps likes to roam a bit too much outside the box.
But at least he is not pushed off the ball as easily as Gimenez
Of course would be ideal to sign a more experienced striker in addition to Harder

          2. The amount of money being spent on someone that isn’t even a starter isn’t exactly reassuring. But I do hope I’m wrong.

          3. keep in mind harder has been coming of the bench, his goals+assists were 1.15 per 90, he has good size but not sure how well he would do as a starter

        2. Yeah because Hojlund is a 80m striker, you play too much video games

No one wants Hojlund, he failed at Man Utd, so did all your your beloved Zirkzee who was so overhyped

          1. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you can’t follow a 2 sentence comment genius. Boulden the super intelligent guy with perfect English and football knowledge. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. Okay, I guess there’s still the Europa-nothing league spots to fight for. What a terrible week for Milan this has turned out to be

  6. Raspadori, Lucca, Krstovic, Vlahovic, even Immobile for a season – all better options.

Good luck to the lad now he’s here. Hopefully he’ll explode

  7. Good second Striker, pleas buy a First yet ,In my opinion vlahovic ist the best Option ,he make His Goals an now Serie a very well.

  8. He is a big talent still with great room for improvement. When he was sold to Sporting I believe he also became the most expensive player ever sold from the Danish Superliga.
If he gets his chances I’m pretty confident he could do very well for us. He was in the shadows of Gyokeres last season and I’m actually quite surprised that they would want to let him leave. He played 52 matches for them and scored 12 goals and made 7 assists. Hardly bad stats for a player who mostly entered as a substitute and basically just played 1600 minutes for the Portuguese team.
Is he ready to be a starter for us well that is a valid question but my hope is that they also bring in someone else preferably Vlahovic or an aging attacker but I can nevertheless see Harder developing greatly in the coming years.

    1. Agree, buying Harder now, is like when Atalanta bought Højlund….Could turn out the same way.
Harder has the same fearless opportunistic approach.

      1. It definitely could be as I at least expect him to continue his development so it could be the right time to acquire him as he most likely will cost a lot more down the road.

    2. Good way of looking at it – that’s basically slightly better than a contribution per 90 I suppose (although I’m taking you at your word on those numbers as I can’t be a***d looking 😁).

      1. he is averaged one every 92 minutes if I recall, with points against Bologna and Benfica.

Most his domestic ones were against weak teams though. So I’d take them with a grain of salt for now. Time will tell

    3. I agree I think he could be a good fit but I’m hoping he isn’t the only striker we sign… although if Boniface is out the picture I’m not too hot on anyone else we’re linked with…

      1. I would personally gladly take Vlahovic off Juventus hands if the deal is right but I would also gladly have taken Højlund or Lucca. Same goes for the Boniface deal but if the medicals shows he is at great risk of further injuries I say better not buying him. I don’t know how many older forwards are available but wouldn’t mind something like a 35 year old striker with great history of bagging goals on a year long contract.

    4. If we get Vlahovic as well I’ll praise Tare. But if this is the only striker signing it is quite average at best. I mean we signed Leao and he came of the bench for almost 2 years. Harder seems like that kind of a player, not a starter for Milan yet.

      1. I hope so too but I would not really call Harder average at best though as he is a fairly big talent and could be on the verge of a breakthrough. He also just got his international debut and Denmark actually has its share of options up front at present.
Will he be the right choice for Milan in the event we doesn’t bring in Vlahovic only time will tell but none of us are fortune tellers. I could see him bag minimum ten goals for us in Serie A and surprise a lot of people on this website.

        1. For me it is an average signing for this season. He can become a top player but I doubt it will be this year. We are playing with 2 strikers and we have 2. If Leao plays upfront then it might be ok, but this guy won’t get a lot of game tome in that case.

          1. That’s also fair enough as it doesn’t mean we have to agree. I really doesn’t hope that Allegri will utilize Leao as a cf as that experiment has failed previously.

    5. 27m euro total package & 10% resale already big for rotation player, thats why sporting accept that, they got 73m euro total package for gyokeres thats make 100m euro for sporting for selling 2 striker. There is problem for ACM , Harder asking for more playing time and we all know allegri only starting experience player not young player like Harder. . Remember allegri word in the past ?

      1. Sporting also bought a 27 year old forward for 22 mil euros and a 20 year old portuguese forward so they are probably already set in that regard. Well Allegri also fielded a young 19-20 year old El Sharawy last time he was around and the same goes for i believe a 22 year old Balotelli and an 18-19 year old De Sciglio so clearly there can be exceptions to the rule. He also fielded some young players while at Juventus.

  9. Can someone explain here why Milan a desperate in looking left footed strikers. Giminez, Vlahovic, Hojlund and now Harder

  10. We have a handful of youngsters to build around for the next 5 years…let’s see how this direction unfolds…provided the trigger happy management don’t sell them off after a season or two.

  11. Really dunno this player, so I hope the scout team worked well and he’ll do good with us.

    Forza Harder, Forza Milan!

  12. Don’t know about him but I hope he turns out good.

But please revert to 433 or at least 343/3421. Stop it with 352, we don’t have players for that.

    1. I dont know where you all are seeing the 352???? Both against bari and against cremonese we played classic 433.

And it was the single misstake that lost us the games against cremonese. 1 solo striker and 2 box-to-box players into team that played low block, that is a rookie misstake.

So guys, I will be glad if we actually played something like 352, cause that would have been counter to cremonese. Hopefully we are buying the strikers to create it. Inter plays it witch huge success for 3 seasons btw, that should be enough to justify your “nonsense” formation

      1. We’re not playing a classic 4 3 3 when tomori, gabbia and pavlo are on the field. I don’t care if it’s in disguise but we were definitely playing with three at the back and no wingers. The 3 5 2 doesn’t suit this team and hopefully that was the end of that.

      2. What? I barely saw anybody high and wide. The width came almost strictly from the wingbacks, with RLC wandering into those zones from time to time. When Chukwueze came on he immediately tucked inside. It’s 3-5-2/3-4-2-1. Sorry.

      3. Inter had Conte who built foundations for 352 with most of their core players still there. Meaning they are suited to it. We don’t have a team for starters but a bunch of passing by individuals because this ownership and its management are crazy about selling our pillars each summer. Can’t even call them pillars considering they leave after a season or two for profit sake.

  13. So many people are annoyed because of this transfer, if he stays at Sporting and scores goals next season they will sell him for over 60 milions and Milan fans will say why we failed to buy him for 25 million.

  14. Would have rather put together the money for him plus for Fabian then add up to make it 70m and go for Ishak.
He wants to leave Newcastle and Newcastle hate to sell him to Liverpool so they would rather take a few million lost and sell to Milan

    1. So Newcastle refused an offer of 110 mil from Liverpool and you are seriously believing that they would accept a 70 mil offer from us calling it a few millions come on be serious you can’t believe your own stuff as it doesn’t make the slightest sense. Not to mention the money Harder and Fabian would cost doesn’t even amount to the 70 mil you mentions.

      1. Wkwkwkwk , that dude must be drunk when write this comment. Liverpool offer total package 120m euro ( include add on ) but got rejected then suddenly Newcastle want to accept 70m euro from ACM?????

        1. Even if that is the case being drunk isn’t really an excuse for that comment of his, hell I could drink 20 beers and a quarter bottle of cognac without writing such nonsense 😀

    1. Indeed! Milan is not Atalanta or Arsenal or even Eintracht Frankfurt. He should go to there not here, like Kerkez did years ago.

  15. And to think, Van Basten, Massaro, Virdis, Papin, Weah, Shevchenko and Ibra were the caliber of striker Milan fans were used to.

With Gimenez still on summer holidays, Milan is going to need about 15 goals from Harder. No pressure!

  16. It’s not a bad pick, imo. a little decent but need help to grow. Milan is lucky to have this signing. Better than bony face

However with Milan, the ceiling is cap and very limited. I don’t expect him to carry all scoring on his shoulder. When a team bad at defense its hard for striker

  17. We are such a disaster. We should have signed Tammy Abraham and Kevin De Bruyne, along with Modric, but we take so long to decide anything that players move quickly.

Now we are just piecing a team together with whatever is left on the market

    1. I mentioned DeBruyne when it was clear he was leaving City. He along with Modric would have been fantastic, and despite the arrivals, Milan should have just went all in for Ederson. He is a difference maker. Well Hopefully Jashari and Ricci make a huge impact, because that is what is needed.
