AC Milan fans are overall pretty underwhelmed with speculation linking the club with a move for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.
In Wednesday, SportMediaset (via MilanLive) claimed that Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban have turned their attentions to the capital in their planning for the summer transfer window.
They report that Milan are keen on two players currently with the Giallorossi, one being Cengiz Under who was heavily linked in January, and the other being Smalling.
The 30-year-old is owned by Manchester United and is currently on a dry loan, and it was recently claimed by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Roma want to sign the Englishman on a permanent basis but have run into difficulties.
The paper states that United want ‘no less than €18m’ for Smalling with the total cost coming to ‘almost €40m for a player who turns 31 in November’ when factoring in his contract.
Regardless, it seems as though Milan fans are not too thrilled with the idea of signing him…
