MEN: Man Utd defender snubbed Dortmund advance in hope of sealing Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot strongly wanted to return to AC Milan and even rejected the idea of a move to Germany, a report claims.

Milan were linked with re-signing Dalot for virtually the entire summer transfer window until Alessandro Florenzi arrived on a loan with option to buy deal, thus fixing the gap of back-up right-back. In the end the Portuguese full-back remained with United and has made two appearances so far this season.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News (via MilanNews), Borussia Dortmund made an offer for Dalot in the summer mercato, but the player himself decided to refuse the advance. The Portugal international however would have gladly returned to Milan, though nothing ended up materialising.

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reassurances, Dalot expects to play more than what he has done with the Red Devils so far and if not then he could ask to leave in January. For now though it seems a Milan return is far away.
