MEN: Man Utd tell defender to report for preseason despite his interest in re-joining Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United have told Diogo Dalot they want him to report for preseason despite the fact AC Milan want him back, a report claims.

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Milan have made a bid to sign Dalot on another season-long loan with an option to buy inserted this time but the Premier League side have no interest in negotiating a deal and want him to return to base.

United are in the market for a new right-back though and Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier is a target, but that deal may not happen because of the asking price. That is why they could go into next season with Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the options on the right side of defence.

Dalot was in regular contact with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and members of his backroom staff throughout his loan spell with Milan and received encouraging feedback, but the Portugal international ‘is still open to re-signing for Milan’ and knows his situation could change if the Red Devils sign a new player in that position.
