According to reports today, Jorge Mendes is now working to bring another Portuguese star to AC Milan; this time it’s Francisco Trincao.

There have been plenty of suggestions about Milan and who will be in control of their mercato this summer. Reports have stated that Mendes is effectively the sporting director, whilst others question if it is a partnership of Ruben Amorim and Gerry Cardinale.

Whichever way it is, the idea to sign Trincao seems to be unanimously popular.

Mendes working on a new Milanista

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport, via MilanNews, the Portuguese super agent is working to make a move happen between Sporting CP, the Rossoneri and of course, Trincao.

Amorim is keen to coach the winger once again, especially with the Portuguese improving further since his departure to Manchester. So, a move definitely seems feasible and a plan would be in place for him already.

Indeed, the new signing would play on the right of the front three, with the ability to cut inside with his left foot. Then, on the opposite side, Christian Pulisic and Christopher Nkunku would fight for a place behind Goncalo Ramos.

Of course, this confirms the suggestions that Rafael Leao is on his way out, but that was known already…

  1. This would be a perfect set up. I don’t know much about this guy but it would let Pulisic play on his favorite left side. Nkunku would be a fine back up for either side. Only problem is Nkunku is pretty expensive to have as a backup but for this season it should be fine. Hopefully he can perform well enough to sell him next season so he can start on another team.

    1. Selling Leao would be a disaster for us some of this players who are link with a move to Milan , might flop and then y’all would be left speechless leao should remain at Milan with a Portuguese coach and other Portuguese players coming this season might need him to integrate and get accustomed to Italian football hope we go for Hujmund since he knows series A wrll

    2. Leao, Pulisic, Nkunku, Ramos, Camada, Chuckweza, A.Cisse and Trincao

For intents and Purposes, the above are an unbelievable attacking unit and can easily handle all the competitions would be playing in

  2. It’s a good player but there is Pulisic, Leao, Nukuku and Camarda if not loaned again. The priority should be the CB and a good left back/left midfielder. They spent 75 on Ramos and Girmaldo went for free at Atletico

    1. Trincao is a left footed attacking midfielder, exactly what Milan is missing for Amorim’s 3421.
Leao can’t play anywhere in that set up.
      Camarda is a striker.
Pulisic can play on the right and Nkunku on the left but neither one of them is left footed.

      1. That’s totally wrong, he is a winger or attacking midfielder he can’t play midfielder on a 3-4-2-1 system because he is not defensive enough. Camarda will be played behind the striker, he is too weak physically to play as nr 9 yet. Leo will play as left winger/ left attacking midfielder behind the striker and Pulisic on the right. I highly doubt they will sell Leao because surprise surprises nobody wants to buy the reaper for 50+ mil so unless someohow they sell Leao there won’t be a chance to buy Tricao

    2. What are you talking about? What does Camarda have to do with Trincao, man? Leao will be sold and Nkunku will be just a sub. Trincao is a right attacking midfielder, Pulisic & Nkunku will play on the left side. And no, Grimaldo wasn’t free at all, he was indeed paid 20 (actually, 22 according to TM) million euros.

          1. He struggled for Lecce bro don’t expect to see him play much, especially when Ramos was bought for that money, wait and see.

        1. I don’t expect him to play much, that’s the fate of the third striker in a serious club after all but he will play only as a striker when given the chance.

  3. Trincao Right….Pulisic Left/Right….Nkunku…Left/Striker….

Nkunku is a costly for a substitute but if he can get back quality thanks to Amorim…. then our 1st 11 quality will not drop in substitutions. Nkunku makes a single substitute for 2-3 positions….Striker, Left Wing Attacking Centre Midfielder (If in game Amorim needs to protect leads and shifts to a double pivot 4-2-3-1, even Pulisic can become the Attacking Midfielder and Nkunku the Left Winger…..basically more various combinations) …..Nkunku (provided he gets back quality) can be a versatile quality plus utility backup for front positions.

  4. Leão better not come back after everything he publicly said. If he does, it just shows he has no conviction or personality. And, of course, he should expect to be booed every game.

  5. Everyone forgets Zaniolo… he would be an amazing reinforcement and it would cost much less then all of these sporting cp linked players… and it had fantastic season at udinese.
    We became AC Sporting 🙁

  6. Inacio, Trincao, Goncalo Ramos seems good foundation…

another CB like Lucumi/Gila, CAM (would love Brahim Diaz but he doesn’t deserve to be a sub) and Zalewski

  7. i know we need a big clear out of midfielders. but if kessie is a free player… wouldnt be a bad idea… the president back. could play well in double pivot with jashari i reckon.

  8. Alot of people here tend to forget that Pulisic is always injured, and we will play in the Europa league as well. Nkunku will get as many minutes as the attacking midfielder to the left as Pulisic will get. They will play 50/50.

As of now we need two left footed attacking midfielders for the AMR side spot. Trincao and one more. I was hoping Liberali would come back but it aint happening. So hopefull we can get Zaniolo for 15 mil from Udinese (sell Chukwueze for 20 and use that money for Zaniolo).

    Ramos/Camarda
    Pulisic/Nkunku-Trincao/Zaniolo

That would be a very solid attacking formation for Amorims 3-4-2-1.

      1. I think the 8 italian trained players will be Terraciano, Torriani, Gabbia, Bartesaghi, Ricci, Comotto, Camarda and then either 1 new signing, like Zaniolo, or one own product, and that battle will be between Sala, Zeroli and Cisse.

If Zaniolo/Trincao arend signed that increases Cisses chances as hes an attacking midfielder perfect for the 3-4-2-1. If Modric doesnt continue and Fofana, R-L-C and Bondo is sold that increases Sala and Zerolis chances to refill the central midfield.

If Hjulmand and Trincao both arrive, Im pretty sure Zeroli and Cisse will be loaned out and Sala continue with the Futuro (hes just 18).

Will be interesting to see in the first friendlies, which of the youngsters gets most minutes, and who Amorim seems to lean towards.

Starting to get a little excited about the coming season now ^^

      2. I think Chuk might just be the surprise of the pre-season on the right CAM position. Think about it, he is a hard worker, but just not fast enough to be a propper winger. His technique and vision in tight spaces, however, is perfect for that role. We’ll see
